Yuichi Sekiya is an associate professor of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, University of Tokyo. His specialties are cultural anthropology, development in Africa and disaster recovery issues in Japan. Soon, a book about public anthropology in the aftermath of disaster in Japan which he edited is going to be published. (Yuichi SEKIYA and Hiroki TAKAKURA, ed. (2019) The Public Anthropology of Recovery after the Triple Disaster in Japan: Collaboration with the Victims of the Earthquake, Tsunami, and Fukushima Nuclear Disaster, University of Tokyo Press.) He obtained Ph.D. degree from the department of cultural anthropology in 2004 and worked for several institutes and colleges until his recent position from 2011.
