His specialties are cultural anthropology, development in Africa and disaster recovery issues in Japan. Soon, a book about\u3000public\u3000anthropology\u3000in\u3000the\u3000aftermath\u3000of\u3000disaster\u3000in\u3000Japan\u3000which\u3000he\u3000edited\u3000is\u3000going\u3000to\u3000be\u3000published. (Yuichi SEKIYA and Hiroki TAKAKURA, ed. (2019) <em>The Public Anthropology of Recovery after the Triple Disaster in Japan: Collaboration with the Victims of the Earthquake, Tsunami, and Fukushima Nuclear Disaster, <\/em>University of Tokyo Press.)
